My husband and I had an account with Providian and we got behind in our bill. I got on a credit counciling thing about 2 years ago and I thought I put them on it but guess I didn't.
There was a lawyer who called me on the 13th and told me that we were going to be sued and we had until the 26th to come up with 300.00 wich is 10% of what we owed. Of course I couldn't come up with because my husband is a retired vetern and we only get one check a month and live in Texas so they cann't garnish his check. So they called me this morning (5-27-05) and said that if I didn't come up with 300.00 by 3p. M this afternoon that they would turn him in to the I.R.S. For fraud because he makes a little extra money on the side to make ends meet.
I almost had a panic attack because of all of this and then I had a few friends tell me that these people have no right to tell me all this stuff and tell me the I.R. S have people following my husband around. I couln't believe that I was so gulable.
