I have a problem with Retrieval Masters Creditors Bureau, Inc., over some cream that was just sent to me without my having knowingly bought it, and now this same collection company is bothering me for $26.95 in payment for this cream! I had sent away for a free sample of the cream from a mailer form from E. Burnham Cosmetic Co., received that, and soon after that a larger bottle came with no indication that money was owed for it, and I thought, well that's nice, another larger sample, too bad it's very cheap and greasy cream.
Then a bill came a few weeks later for $26.95! I knew that I didn't agree to buy the cream, so I ignored it. Then I got another notice and ignored that, figuring it was just a ploy to get money out of little old helpless ladies. And today I just got a letter of collections from this "Retrieval Masters" company.
Does this company have the power to harm my credit even though I never asked to buy their greasy cream?
