In july of 1996, my husband purchased a truck and had it financed through olympic financial. (the company never notified us that they had changed their name to arcadia.)
My husband was involved in a serious accident in april of 1997 and couldn't work for a year. He had insurance to cover the payments, but they started to pay too late. Arcadia claimed that they didn't receive the payments and they wanted the truck or all of the back payments now.
(this was jan. Of 1998) they were the rudest lowlife's i have ever had to deal with. They didn't care that the payments were on their way, all they cared about is that they weren't there already. They repossessed the truck, then they had enough nerve to call a few days later and offer the truck back to us, they "found" the missing payments "under a stack of papers" on so-and-so's desk.
We said to bring us the truck back, they then told us we had to pay an excessive amount (more then we could afford to give them at that time) of money to have it "sent" back to us (delivery, transportation, & milage charges to us sounded like they were "triple" billing us.)
Then to add salt to a fresh wound they not only put 1 repo. On our credit, but they put 1 on for "olympic"; & 2 on for themselves. Three repos., 1 truck... How's that for "screw-you-over"???
Signed: screwed up credit for life
