GreenPoint Mortgage
Ignorant phuckers grossly incompetent

Once the mortgage was setup, after delaying closing for 3 weeks because every week they had to request the same information over & over & over. I figured these guys were grossly incompetent and should have had the broker cancel the deal and go with someone else, but I didn't want to go through this crap with another mortgage company, and I didn't want to lose the house.

Every month, they accept my payments from my account online; I pay with my online bill pay through Bank of America. I am impressed that they post my payments much faster than another mortgage company I use.

BUT I wanted to setup ACH debits, for a variety of personal reasons. So, I went online and requested the necessary form. They mailed it to me. I filled it out, as I have for many other places not intelligent enough to just setup the information on the internet, my wife and I signed it, and we attached a voided check as instructed.

3 weeks later, it was returned with a form letter saying that I needed a note from the bank to prove that I was authorized to sign on my own account. I'm like "I'm not in grade school... I wasn't absent, and I don't need a note from mommy to do this."

Being the adventurous one, I called them and asked what the hell? I was told they need a letter from a branch manager of my bank that I was authorized to sign on my account. So I asked them why the freak they didn't ask for a GD letter in the first place instead of sending the enrollment form requesting a voided check.

I wanted to say more, but I learned several months ago that they are the brightest bulbs in the stadium, but I just couldn't help calling them back and talking to maybe a different person, who was just as ignorant.

Why am I posting this? Well, let's see. This is 2005.. I have a color laser printer, and a scanner, high quality paper, and a letter from my bank when I set up the account.

In your opinion, how hard would it be for me to print a letter on bank letterhead signed by a branch manager and send it to GreenPoint? How much you want to be they would set the account up?

So, no bad things to say about the monkeys that open envelopes and bunch up the checks at the lockbox and post the payments, just lots of stupidity which seems to be flowing from the top down.

I might be able to understand if it was a new mortgage, a delinquent mortgage, or a new bank account, but the simplest way to verify ACH, especially for a good customer, is to just set the damn thing up. Even Homecomings did it for me, after only 3 months with no questions and no delays.

I know you guys have read about what monsters the CSR's at Homecomings are, and after dealing with them on my Property Insurance, I can relate.
