I defaulted on my Sears account two years ago. I now have a better paying job and this year, I started paying off some of my old debt so that someday I can buy a house.including late fees, overdraft charges and all, my $2000 debt turned into over $3500! I received an offer from Capital Management for $1733 and accepted. That was in July.
Today, Decemeber 28, Sherman is FINALLY showing the account as paid. FIVE MONTHS! They had since sold it to another company named Creditors Interchange. They tried to say the payment was not applied to my original debt to Sears, that it had some other account number on my cleared check and that I now owed them $2200!
