Fraudulent charges

I had a US Bank account that I used for a short time. I was trying to find work, just lost my husband, struggled for every dime. Then the bank allowed a $19.99 charge. Every month. I argued repeatedly that I never authorized the charge. They said I had to cancel with the company charging it and cancel thru their system. Since I had no idea who it was or how to contact them, The bank finally gave me a number to call. The charges stopped and I cleared up all the overdrafts and fees, etc. (Bank Rep agreed it was fraudulent but I still had to pay) and then CANCELED THE BANK ACCOUNT! CLOSED, FINISHED. With a letter stating why. A couple months later, there was another recurring charge on that same account. Plus overdraft, etc. Etc. Etc. After another two months of arguing, US Bank pulled the recurring charge off my account but would not do anything about their multiple fees on that fraudulent charge. I was moving across country to be with my son. A bank rep finally agreed to reverse the fees and I moved away. 2 years passed with no contact, (address still has family members living there, phone number never changed, mail forwarded fine) Now I have Collection calling me night and day and harassing me for over $579 from US Bank. What should I do? Family says to sue, but how do I do that?
