Crooks!!!
I went to Fry's and the salesman knowingly sold me a laptop that had been previously returned by a customer and claimed it was a new one. There was a reduced price sticker with a reduced rate amount which turned out to be about $30.00. When I asked the salesman for a laptop that had windows 7 he said he had one left. When he brought it out he said the reason the box was previously opened was because he had showed it to a customer and assured me it was new. When I brought it home the web browser did not work after When I returned it to the store the repair dept. Showed me on the receipt that it had been returned aonly a couple days of use nd when I went to the sales dept. The manger told me the reduced price sticker on the box is always for only laptops that were previously returned. The salesman who sold it to me was there and I pointed him out to the manager. When the manager asked him if he sold it as a new laptop he nervously said that he didn't know anything about it and looked to his right and left and quickly backed away. I let the manager at the laptop dept. And the main manager of the entire store know that I lost hundreds of movies and songs as well as family pictures that could not be replaced b/c I had transferred all my files to the new laptop from my old laptop and got rid of my old laptop. The manufacturer of the computer (Acer) instructed me that a full system restore was required which would hopefully fix the web browser. I did the full system restore even though I had know way to download the files on the computer because of the broken web browser which deletes everything loaded on the computer and restores it to the original factory settings. The system restore did not correct the problem so I had to return it to the store. Both managers refused to do anything about the salesman who lied to me. They would not even give me a penny off towards another laptop, I also had brought a router there as well when I brought my computer and the salesman had lied to me to get me to buy the most expensive one. Luckily, I knew he was lying and even tripped him up on his own lies and I bought the router I actually needed which was about $180.00 cheaper than the one he was trying to make me think I had to use. I am sure this type of thing goes on at other stores once in a while with a dishonest salesman however I have never seen a store where the salesman are allowed to lie to get a commission or a commission on a regular basis as if it were store policy. The managers protect these crooked salesman. Everyone I have spoken with have had similar issues with Fry's salesman who say whatever it takes to make the sale they want.
