I have been disappointed the past 4 times I have gone to Ulta therefore I will never set foot in that store again. The first two times they were out of my conditioner, which is fairly popular and extremely expensive (Pureology-it runs $63 a bottle).in the past it had always been in stock but for 3 weeks in a row it was out of stock. Having worked as a buyer for a drug store in the past in the beauty department, I know that the reason it was likely out of stock is because someone didn't place the proper order amount. Then I asked the cashier if they were perhaps changing their packaging, because often times when that happens they will be out of stock for a little while. She said no, they are not. Finally I give up and buy it at a salon in the mall and come to find out as a matter of fact they did change their packaging. Duh!
The next time I went and I was looking for a product called the Beauty Blender. When I called before to make sure they had it, the girl on the phone said yes we have that. When I got there and I couldn't find it I asked an associate for help and she said: "Oh I'm sorry but no one is working in the make up department today" ummmm what? The whole store sells cosmetics how can you not have someone working in that department. Furthermore, if you are a manager as she claimed she was, why wouldn't you know where EVERYTHING is in your store.
The last time I went in the store, someone else was looking for the beauty blender and I over heard her. I said they don't carry it, but you can order it online at another online store that I love. Then the sales person said: "You don't work here, and we do have it" then she brought over some piece of garbage Ulta Brand that I had already been warned not to try because they fall apart. I said, I don't need it thanks, I ordered mine online because your co-worker told me last week that you didn't carry it. Then I said, that isn't even the Beauty Blender Brand. I was looking for Palladio Primer and it was out of stock. I was also looking for a Benefit Brow Pencil, that was also out of stock. I did end up buying Ulta Eye Shadows. They suck. I threw them away because they have no pigment whatsoever. Don't ever buy their shadows, they are a waste of money.
I can't see any reason to ever go back. It is a huge waste of my time and just a headache. Now I order my products online from a new site that I found that I love, or I will drive all the way out to Sephora which is 1 hour from my house but it is better than crappy Ulta. Or I will just pay more money and buy from a salon or Macy's or something. It is just easier than dealing with those idiots.
And their new rewards program is nothing more than a scam to get you to come back another day and spend more money. Mine always expire because I don't buy make up every week.
