Thank you for finding the time to listen to my situation. I am currently a student at this school and I am studying various subjects such as nails, facials and hair care and so far in my final stages of completing the classes. My concern is I have two children that are African american (sons) qualified for the schools free evening care while I am in class. For the past several months now I have been noticing that the caretaker in the daycare doesnt treat the African american children nor the Caucasin children with fair treatment. For some reason the classroom is prodimentially hispanic and I have seen the hispanic children use obsenities, fight and act unruly and nothing is done by the care taker. But whenever a child of non hispanic race does these same things its been overlooked. Its also been observed where the caretaker has left the room leaving the kids unsupervised on several occasions. When this was brought to the attention of the Director of the school hispanic female Mariam and the owner Stan Barnett it has been advised that this was going to be looked into. After this was reported I also noticed various children that were not hispanic were suddenly removed from the program without due to minor issues. The school Director (Mariam) and I recently got into an altercation due to my kids being removed from the program because of the daycare attendant stated that my children are unruly and wont listen. I remarked that I feel the school's daycare is understaffed (one worker for 20 or more kids). I was later told not to return to the school because I was being disrespectful and that I couldnt return back to the premises. I have also observed hispanic teacher's only wanting to teach the classes in spanish and get a bit timid when they are advised of non spanish speakers that are also in the class. The teachers have to be told this on a constant basis. I have never initiated a complaint on anyone but I feel this school misleads and has a bit of hidden racism behind there campus. I made suggestions of adding another teacher with the kids (never happened). I also understand that children will be children but I also know that the assigned care taker has displayed impatience and a non caring demeanor with children of another race other than hispanic. I really like the school but since I complained about the unfair treatment I have noticed. The Director and the owner Stan Barnett have not conducted themselves in a professional manner regarding a negotiable conclusion and currently as on 03-04 I requested a meeting with both parties and it wasnt pleasant nor did we adhere to an agreement. I was advised to leave the school property the police department was called out (Margate Police Department) to tell me to leave the school indefinitely. My concern is that I still have a month or two until I was supposed to complete my studies and I feel completely unjust regarding to me just standing up for my children and the other kids in the after care. One last thing before I forget. I also can recall an incident when the when the caretaker made the remark "that she cant deal with these type of kids" and she also remarked "you people dont know what comes first".
