I used GiGi's hair wax a few years ago. I melted the wax in the microwave as per instructions and at the end of the heating period, pulled the wax out by the little handle. The wax sloshed onto my hand giving me what would be a deep second degree burn, and a second smaller second degree. The skin instantly was burnt off my hand and the pain was excruciating. I had to go to emergency and and a plastic surgeon to make sure that I did not have a full thickness burn. I called the company and a rep told me it was my fault for not letting the wax cool first. I told her you the jar is not made well because as it heats, it deforms and bends. The handle is very small and puts right hear the wax. This allows the wax to pour out from the deformed area. Also, the wax heats unevenly, from the outside in, so the center melts last as the outside superheats to a hot lava and there is no way to see what is going on unless you pull the jar out and risk getting burned. The woman rep never asked me if I were ok. How I was, she offered me the price of the product which I refused, and she repeated blaming me. The jar design is defective and obviously, the company could care less about its customers. I have never purchased another jar and would caution others as well. I have heard that the wax does not even work that well. It is a shame that in desperation so many women buy the junk that is sold on shelves.
