I purchased a Shih Tzu from Purebred Breeders and had several issues. The first was getting the puppy - the airline wouldn't let it fly because of tempature restrictions - restrictions that Purebred Breeders should know about - and so they had someone drive the dog from St. Louis down to Florida. The driver couldn't go all the way to where we live so we had to drive 3 hours round trip to pick the dog up. We supposedly paid money for a "tempature controled flight" which was total BS.
The second issue we had was when the puppy arrived it was filthy from head to toe and stunk worse than a skunk. Its little white paws were stained yellow from walking around it its own filth. Its hair was matted in many places and it smelled so bad that we had to take it right in for a grooming. The groomer said that it will take several grooming to get the stained fur back to a normal. If I had to guess I would say that this puppy came from one of those puppy mills that you hear about on the news. I'm pretty sure that Purebread Breeders doesn't check the breeders they work with - its all about the sale.
