I switched from cable to Direct TV within the last two weeks. One reason I switched was the promise, from a Direct TV representative, of a lower monthly bill via bundling my phone service with Verizon. Alas there is, according to Verizon, no such bundling and my monthly costs have rise dramatically! I decided upon learning that fact to cancel my agreement with Direct TV since it was arrived at with false information. After HOURS on the phone I was told that to cancel would cost me a $400 cancellation fee.
My next move will be to contact my attorney and then the local television station consumer complaint department.
A corporation such as Direct TV should be embarrassed to take such unfair advantage of senior citizens!
