Never in my life have i seen something so outrageous. First off let me state the salesperson for Verizon home phone and direct TV blatently lied. Service with direct tv is awful. 3 clouds in the sky and my screen freezes. My bill is $62 per month higher than promised and $38 per month higher than Time warner. Also, with Direct TV i do not receive any on demand. I miss shows, it honestly is half the service of time warner.
True story. This morning my wife calls me and tells me that there is a message on all of my tv screens stating "no subscription and no DVR access" OK, so i call direct tv to ask them why and what is happening. Loquesha gets on the phone from tech support and rudely tells me that my "service has been minimized" UHHHH OK, what does that mean? She tells me to hold on and then puts me on hold... 2 minutes later the prompt tells me that i have called an incorrect number and my call cannot be completed. I guess that is funny, right? I call verizon and they tell me my account is up to date and they do not know what "minimizing" is. 2 hours on hold and re explaining my problem.
I don't think that this is funny. I am now under contract with direct TV for 16 more months with early termination fees. I am counting the days until i can go back to time warner.
On another note, i do own over 100 acres of land in auburn ny. About every 3 months or so, i sell off 2 - 3 acres to people who want to move to the country. I make sure to let each and every one of them know my experience with direct tv and verizon.in addition, my mother and father live on Potter Rd in auburn next door to me and they switched to time warner in january.
