Awful Customer Service

During a recent visit to Lowes my wife and I had decided to make a large purchase using our Lowes Project card. We noticed there was no expiration date on the card. So upon arriving at at Lowe's we checked to make sure the card was still valid because we had not used it in a while. The lady working the customer service desk said yes the card is still good but that it may need to be re-activated because it had not been used lately. So my wife and I continued on. We spent at least 1.5 hr in the outdoor section picking out plants and shrubs for our landscaping project. We then spent another hour picking out a swing set and getting someone to come get it off the shelf with a fork lift. The entire time our 2 year old child was with us and very excited about the swing set. We finally make it to the checkout counter with 2 large carts full of goodies and a forklift with the swing set only to be told that the card was not valid and that this program stopped a couple of months ago. Had we not checked with customer service and was told yes the card was good I would not have been so upset. Not to mention we never recieved anything in the mail stating the card was not good. I decided not to make the purchase even tho we could have used cash. The whole point was to pay of the stuff in six months with 0% interest. I think this is absolutely poor customer service and that our card should be honored or at the very least a manager should have tried to work something out with us. It's a pretty sad day when no one seems to give a damn about the customers who keep the store going. Not to mention management should train their employees to know that the facts and not bullshit people. Having spent 2.5 hrs in Lowes with a 2 yr old and then to hear this I have decided that I will no longer use Lowes unless our purchase is honored. To date I have sent 3 emails to lowes including corporate office and have recieved no reply. Even a sorry for the inconvenience would be nice at this point!
