Ok, so Disney normally has pretty good stuff. BUT, why is it that there is a music video titled "Holla at the DJ" where the singer is wearing shorts that are much to short, her body is oiled up, and she is dancing like beyonce doing booty pop and shake kinda moves!??? That is no where near appropriate for the age range of Disney watchers. Three of my friends who are also parents, only one has a little girl, all sat here with jaws dropped and said "How repulsive!" and were not at all happy about that music video either. So I know it is not just me! THEN the movie "Sharpay's big adventure" where in one of the opening scenes, Sharpay is wearing a micro mini skirt and an extremely low cut top that shows her full blown cleavage all the way to the bottom of it, and dancing almost like a stripper, and has her male dancers hands all over her! And then they all pass her over their shoulders as she arches her back and her undergarments become CLEARLY visible. Plus, there is a line in that song about "I might give my dear old dad a heart attack, but he'll live!" and it shows her dad being fully supportive of her being on the stage dancing and behaving that way in such an outfit. No good father in their right mind would be happy about that! Most fathers would be ashamed of their daughters for dressing that way. Especially on a stage and at such a young age. And, again, another parent friend of mine who doesn't even have a little girl was highly upset about that as well! We don't want our children, male or female, seeing that crap and being taught that it is acceptable!
What are you teaching our children, Disney!? Most of the time the girls in your shows are dressed modestly! Why walk that thin line occasionally!? Shame on you for thinking this is ok. I'm very close to banning Disney in my home. I have a 6 year old little girl who does not need to learn that such behavior and dressing like that is ok. I am highly disgusted. And I have paid attention to lyrics of other songs as well. Stop allowing songs that encourage children to disobey and smart off to their parents or to sneak around behind their backs when they are told no to something. Teach our children GOOD behavior, GOOD fashion, and GOOD morals and character and we will all be super happy parents!
