I have been paying auto insurance to Allstate for several years. One day while I was going home, another vehicle was heading east as I was heading west. I had the right of way when the other vehicle suddenly made a prompt left turn heading north. I hit the back of his car and smashed my front end. The light was green for me, and I had the right of way. A witness claims I was heading north when the accident happened and told this to the adjuster. The man in the other vehicle had a suspended license and a small child with no car seat, but no one was hurt. The witness came to the man and said he saw everything. A police officer arrived, and no report was taken because there was no bodily injury.
I got a call from the adjuster at Allstate, who was unable to speak to the driver of the other vehicle but spoke to his girlfriend, the mother of the child in the vehicle. The girlfriend confirmed to the adjuster that the accident happened as I stated and that the witness was wrong. The adjuster said she will take the word of the witness and not pay on my claim. My car is wrecked. I had to pay my own towing, storage and removal of the vehicle.
