I ordered DirecTV on a Wednesday and was given Saturday as the installation day. That seemed very fast, so I told them plainly not to promise me a visit and make me waste my day, and not to say anything they could not deliver.
Nobody came, and nobody phoned either. The window was 12 to 4, and only at 7:30 in the evening did they call to say an emergency kept them from coming. They pleaded with me to accept a new date the following day, Sunday. After warning them several times that this was already one day lost and I would not give up another, I finally agreed.
As you may have guessed, Sunday brought no installer either. This time they did call, but gave me a false story about a technical problem with my equipment. I waited 13.45 minutes to reach a supervisor, and then the line was cut. I called again and was told that every supervisor was out in the field. I asked what the technical problem actually was. The answer from the woman was that they were locked out of their warehouse and could not get supplies. When I asked whether it was a problem with the door or whether the installer had no key, she said installers are not given keys. So they do not trust him inside their warehouse, yet they plan to send him into my home.
I called Dish Network...
