85-Year-Old Veteran Told Arch Supports Cost Extra $249.95

Hark, hark, how this 85-year-"young" disabled WW2 veteran was treated by Alan Genese at the Good Feet Store in Sarasota in May.

As an extra courtesy, I called ahead, explaining that I needed a replacement for my stolen $230 Z-Coil shoes, which have built-in arch support. I was promised a better and less expensive replacement.

After some 30 minutes of waiting, I was given athletic shoes along with two small arch supports from inventory. No cast was made of my feet, and one of the supports was about 2 cm longer than the other.

At the cashier, I was told the shoes cost $192.55 including tax, but Genese insisted I have to pay an extra $249.95 for the arch supports, for a total of $442.50. When I protested the extortionate price of the arch supports, Genese apologized that he had brought up the pricing too late, but he removed the supports from the shoes. So much for the Good Feet promise of a better and cheaper replacement.

A few days later I returned the shoes and got credit. Genese still feels he was not bad, so much for the sincerity of his apology.

Veterans and all others, be aware of the deceptive lie used to lure me into the store and then going back on their promise. Several hours and a long trip to the store were absolutely wasted. Avoid Alan Genese at the Good Feet store!
