I have been trying to apply for a position at a Petco 33 miles from where I live. I applied eight times, once in the store with the daytime manager, Chris, helping me fill out the application, to no avail. He called the number listed, 1-877-560-4084, and was told that the computers were down for maintenance and repairs, the same as I had been told previously. The very next day, Feb. 3, I was told the system had never been down and had not been down at all.
I am currently on unemployment, and I faithfully go on frequent job searches. I have never been given the plain old run-around, not here in the United States, and I am 47 years old. I have a right to apply to any place that posts job openings, just like anybody else.
