I am writing to complain about your store in Vestal, NY. They are victims of the floods up there, in an area that sees flooding frequently. Does Petco not have a policy to move its animals to a safer area in the event of a storm or other natural disaster? This store ended up flooding, and no one made an attempt to have the animals fostered or sheltered, so many died after being in the flood waters for days. There is already a call for boycotts of Petco, but this, not making any attempt to get animals to safety, takes the cake. Very sad.
I will not be shopping at any Petco and will make sure that friends and family do not either. I am sure Petco's employees feel terrible about what happened, but there should have been an emergency plan in place to foster and shelter animals when facing a natural disaster of any sort.
