Humana health insurance is provided to me by my employer. I became eligible and enrolled last February.
In July I switched to a new doctor, John Williams of Piedmont Family Practice, after they told me repeatedly (when I inquired, when I set the appointment, and when I arrived for the appointment) that they accept my insurance.
I just got an e-mail from Humana saying that they paid the claim, but the amount paid was zero because my doctor was not in their "network." I then checked their website to see what doctors are in-network in my area. There are none! The two hospitals in town are also not in-network.
In fact, their website says that my plan (which my employer and I have been paying for!) is not even available in my area. The end result is that my employer and I are both shelling out big money for nothing due to this fraudulent activity by Humana.
