My husband and I sat through the hotel timeshare, were promised all kinds of perks if we signed on and bought a timeshare with Marival Vacation Club. Once we agreed and gave our credit cards and IDs we were told the computers were down and it would be a few hours. We had already given up 4 hours of our vacation for this. When we were finally able to complete the documents, my credit cards had already been ran, and no real time to review the documents to make sure they included everything promised. We tried speaking to them them next day about what was missing, they were busy. Once we returned to the states, I sent my cancellation as stated by email. Methods specified in the agreement were in person, by email, or certified mail within the first 5 days after the date the agreement was signed. At the same time I also contacted my credit card companies to start a dispute. The next morning the contact for the timeshare emailed me back stating he hoped we would reconsider. I responded no and to cancel and return 100% of what was paid as stated in the agreement. No response for days. Finally I told him that I needed confirmation this was cancelled, he responded with a new offer and that we could not terminate due to a disclosure we signed, talking about buyers remorse, and limited supply, and advance of points. BS! We weren't even old enough for them to advance the point as it stipulated you had to be at least 50 years of age! Credit card companies said that document was invalid since the agreement/contract stated termination details. So I continued my process of trying to get this cancelled. Looked up Mexico consumer information, which also states we have 5 days from signing date of contract. So I emailed them, got a response and documents to complete if my termination was not honored. I forwarded that on to Marival Vacation Club along with my original termination request and the next day they processed the credit back to my credit cards, it took about a week for it to be applied. But I was successful! DO NOT fall for their scams of trying to make you a better deal or saying you signed something else acknowledging you can't cancel. You have rights!
