Ramada Plaza Resorts
Ripoff dishonest fraud charged to my credit card, Our experience with them was anything but service oriented and certainly was not pleasureable

During the month of January I received a promotional package from Ramada Plaza Resorts. The package offered an enticing cruise to Nassau. For me, it would have been the trip of a lifetime.

My daughter and I studied the package contents and knowing the state of travel in the world today can be extremely expenisve, decided to call the (800) 203-9783 telephone number in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. We were confident in pursuing this promotional package, because we felt Ramada Plaza Resorts was associated with Ramada Inn, a hotel proven beyond a doubt to be a service oriented establishment.

Sadly, we were wrong. Our experience with Ramada Plaza Resorts was anything but service oriented and certainly was not pleasureable.

The person with whom we spoke quoted pries, up front, and then made A comment to the effect "If you don't commit over the phone, there will be no second chance at a later date". At that point, recognizing a harde line sales pitch I turned the offer down. The salesperson persisted. He said "I can extend the time you are allowed to take the cruise and the four others you were offered, from (17) seventeen months to (3) 3 years to complete them". He said, "You will need to put a $349.00 down payment on your credit card today and then we will automatically bill your credit card (6) six consecutive monthly $58.17 payments consifned to Ramada Plaza Resorts". He further stated "After the 698.02 is paid in full, you are eligible to take your vacation".

At that point, I decided to purchase the package and make the down payment. I also asked for the free video being offered with the packaga.

Two months passed before I received a Video. As soon as I viewed the grainy tape on which the "Imperial Majesty" was featured, I knew something was definitely wrong. The ship was not a spectacular Cruise Liner. Quite the contary, it was a ship built in 1955 and; it is my understanding, the ship is no longer in service.

To say the least, I have been robbed of $698.02 of my hard earned money and my confidence in "the business system" was snatched from me. I tried numerous times to get a refund but was never able ro reach anyone in the office. They were not available to me.

A friend who participates in yearly cfruises gave me the Rip Off websites and suggested that I make pertinent inquiries. The very first entry shown was for the Ramada Plaza Resort located at 2419 Commercial Blvd, Suite 100, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida 33308.

I fully intend to register a fraud complaint with each and every State and Federal Goverment Agency that would conceivably be involved in this type situation. People who intentionally disrupt lives by using such cruel devices as stealing from honest, hard working citizens, stranding them in unlnown lands, using the United States Mail Service to forward their corrupy plans, etc. Should be sought out, punished and be held accountable for the monies paid to them in good faith by the unsuspecting public.

As a further insult, these corrupt companies are obviously selling credit card numbers to others. I had over $520.00 placed on my credit card from January 29th thru March 17th. The charges were made by someone not known to me. I notified the fraud division of these transactions and closed my card. However it is an unnecessary and traumatic experience for anyone to go throught.

My intention is not to let anyuone get away with what I have outlined above. I want to share what hasd happened to me. Hopefully, if enough people will take the same stand to fight back when they have been abused by the criminal actions of certain elements of our society, we can bring this sort of deception to a conclusion.

Respectfully,

Linda
