I was lucky, I found out about the deceptive and fraudulent way that Ramada Plaza Resort operates BEFORE we got to Florida. To start with, we have stayed at Ramadas over the years and always been pleased. Therefore I thought I was dealing with Ramada. You are not dealing with ramada. Even though Ramada Plaza Resorts uses the Ramada Logo, lettering, etc. They are a completely separate entity. I called and questioned Ramada about his and they said I needed to take it up with Ramada Plaza Resorts and that they had permission to use the Logo for some reason or another.
What really started to bother me was that RPR would not let me know where we were staying until a few weeks before the tip. I called and called and they finally sent me the info via fax. Then I was upset. The hotel in Orlando was total scum dump place, the "Beach" hotel in Ft Lauderdale was nowhere near the beach, the "free rental car" which I paid for an upgrade to was an upgrade to a "compact car". My family would not even fit in the car!!! Etc., etc.
So I called and asked for a refund. They were quite rude, said NO and that was it as far as they were concerned.instead of getting mad at them I decided to do things a little differently. I filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, The Fedral Trade Commission, The Florida Attorney General and the State of Lforida Department of Consumer Affairs.
Then I contacted my credit card company's fraud department. Told them how I had been scammed and they said they would help out as well.
Next I wrote to RPR telling them I wanted to cancel and recieve a refund and proceeded to let them know who all I had contacted. I'm not sure what got their attention first but I received a FULL REFUND.
I know many people have had to actually take their vacation to find out how horrible RPR is and I feel badly about that. But, because of this website I was able to get a refund and book alternate plans before my trip to Florida. Thanks.
