Extremely similar to another post on this site, my wife and I was on vacation in Myrtle Beach and was offered free tickets for one of the local shows. We knew that there was a sales presentation we would be sitting through in order to obtain the tickets. We were led to a room for the presentation, conducted by. We were then shown a model unit as was told our's would be of similar quality and decor. After this, we were taken to another, large room and 'tag-teamed' by two sales people. We were told that, if we were to buy into the 'special' they were promoting, we would be given enough options that would cover a week at the Bora Bora property and round trip airfare. We spend three hours asking every question we could think of. We were told several times that it is not a timeshare. Seemingly since the Bora Bora trip would cost us out of pocket a majority of the buy in, we bought in for 69,000 options, which equates to one week, semi off season for a 3 bedroom lockout. We were never informed of the now $1,100 yearly maintainance fee. When we tried to get out of the deal we were told that too much time had elapsed and we can't get out. We were then reitterated about how great ownership is. We have subsequently found out that it is virtually impossible to selll since anyone who buys it would only get use of our specific unit during our specific week and would not be able to exchange for any or property or week. We were thoroughly explained that we could use the options to go to any of the resorts as long as it was enough options to cover the requirement. Upon fist attempting to book a trip, we were informed that our purchase was actually of two pieces of options, 44,000 and 25,000 since we chose a 3 bedroom lockout and that we could not combine these. This effectively ruled out most of the other properties and/or limits us to only a few weeks in a much smaller unit. We then attempted to book, according to their rules, a thanksgiving trip to Vistana resort in Florida. We called the absolute earliest time allowed and was told there was only one unit available, and that was a 2 bedroom. We took it. When we arrived, it was something fresh out of the early 80's, even though we were sold that the resorts would be of up-to-modern standards as what we were shown. Sorry, we are just now starting to renovate. Having recieved an invitation to come visit our property and discuss questions we have, we took them up since we were not happy. I brought up the blatent fraud/misrepresentation that was done to us and how frustrated and angry we were. Thery is no way in hell we would have ever signed up for something like this had we been presented to facts. We were actually told by one of the salespeople that everything was stipulated in the contract we signed. After 3 hours of the initial sales pitch we were informed that the offer was only good for that day and, therefore, we wouldn't be able to take the contract and have an attorney look it over. This follow up meeting was another sales pitch! After stating all the issues we had had, the two salespeople we attempting to get us to by additional weeks in prime season. I told them there was no way they were getting another dime, that I had been trying to get out of it. I had asked and asked about combining my options so I would be able to at least try to book at their other properties and they repeatedly informed me that they couldn't change it, that they had never seen the back office make such a change. After another hour of sales pitch, the higher up person left the room and then returned and told me that he got the options conbined?
