I took delta airlines from atlanta to san dieo, ca. It was new years eve 2012. We got near san diego when the pilot told us due to the fog, we had to fly in circles for 1/2 hour which we did. After that the pilot told us we were flying to lax because we can't land in san diego with the fog. He also told us we were going their to fuel up and a rep would meet us. Once we arrived the pilot told us to pick up our luggage at carousel #4.
We waited at carousel 4 for 45 minutes before we hunted down a delta employee. We were told that we would have to wair 3 or 4 hours for our luggage or pick it up the next day at san diego airport. We were told that no rep was going to meet us and we had to find our own way home. I had just moved to san diego and did not know one person. It was also new years eve. I had no choice to take a taxi home 2 hours away which cost me $345.00 plus a tip. We were abandoned by delta airlines and apparently did not even deserve the courtesy of someone coming to inform us of their outrageous plans. Appology? You would atleast think we would get that, but no we did not get one. I have to take delta one more time to florida as i am moving back to florida and it's the only flight that will get me there by 5 pm. I will not ever take them again.
At the very least they should have gotten a bus or shuttle to san diego. Delta you are extremely unprofessional, and you did the wrong thing. I hope people think twice before booking with you.
