My wife and i purchased a two bedroom timeshare from Crown Park which at the time was owned by Burroughs and Chapin. We made this purchase in 2006. Since this time Orange Lake has purchased the property. I was very hesitant about the whole situation however, they sold us a bill of goods and I took the bait. We were told if we ever wanted to sell the time share just give them a call and they would assist us that the property would do nothing but appreciate over time so it will be a great investment. We were told if we did not use the timeshare we could use the points to pay our maint. Fees.
Now almost six years later and the mortage is paid in full, we have been able to stay at our home resort one time for i think 4 days. My wife has called countless times to try and make a reservation without any luck and to be honest we are not able to book a year in advance. However, she has called six months in advance and not had luck. She has contacted Crown Park countless times to try and sell the time share with not luck. No one is willing to even talk to her about trying to sell it. We have offered to give it back to Crown Park and they dont even want it. She has asked for the manager many times and he never returns her call. The last time she called, we received a call from a company named time share counsel the very next night.
A gentelmen named Rick Williams with timeshare counsel said he heard we were unhappy with our time share and that they could get us out of it for a fee. Once again, I was very hesitant except this time I did not bite. I did some checking on Mr. Willams and his company was fake. How did Mr. Williams get my number? The only person we had talked to was Crown Park. So far nothing that we were told in the sales pitch has been true. At this point all I want is out! I will not pay another maintenance fee for something that I cant use. I have talked with the TN Attorney Generals office and apparently I am not the only one with this problem. I would encourage anyone in the same situation to contact the TN Attorney Generals office and make it known.
