Normally I don't splurge on myself, but I decided to treat myself to a show at The Mandaly Bay Hotel. I bought a ticket on-line to see Mama-Mia at the Mandalay Bay Hotel on Christmas day. I used my debit card to purchase the ticket.
Unfortunately, I left the same card at home right next to my computer. I didn't realize this until I arrived in Las Vegas. They told me they needed to see the card. I explained what happened and I was told that they would not give me my ticket. They would not credit my debit card unless I paid them $113.00 in cash first. I explained that I only had some money for food since my card was left behind.
They really couldn't care any less if they had tried. They didn't let the fact that I bought their most expensive ticket get in the way. "It's our policy" was what was said over and over. So I said: "Let me get this straight. I'm right in front of you with plenty of identification and you will not give me my ticket, but you will still charge me the $113.00?" "Yes" was the reply and that is all they would say.
I understand that hotels have policies, but for crying out loud at least pretend that they give a damn in unusual circumstances, and not just be the "policy" parrot. Merry Christmas to me.
