Orbitz recent trip

March 18-20 marked the last time that I will ever use Orbitz or your subsidiary Cheaptickets. The name fits. On March 8, I attempted to apply an unused non-refundable ticket that I had purchased last September 17 to attend a wedding in October of the same year. The wedding was cancelled two weeks before the date. So, I immediately called Cheaptickets with whom I had purchased the ticket and told them my dilemma. I knew that I would not receive a refund, but could I use it toward the purchase of another ticket. Cheaptickets said yes.in fact, they waived their $50 fee, which I appreciated greatly and said just to call them within a year from the date of purchase to use the ticket. On March 8, I called Cheaptickets to purchase a ticket to Atlanta, GA to attend my granddaughter's baptism. I gave the representative the information that Cheaptickets had given me on October 13. The customer service representative (CSR) informed me that the ticket was no longer available-that it had been purchased by Delta Airlines. I called Delta and their CSR said that it had not been purchased—that Cheaptickets still had it. I called Cheaptickets again on the March 8th and told the CSR whose name was Kara that I would like to purchase a ticket to Atlanta, GA and gave her the intinerary. Leaving Columbus, OH on March 18 on Flight #1871 and returning March 20 on Flight #2597. Total cost $371.00. Kara put me on hold. I was on hold so long that Kara said that the price of the ticket was $441.00. I would have to pay $190 difference (original ticket price was $251.40), plus $150 for Delta's penalty, plus $100 to create a new ticket. Of course I was appalled. First, Kara had kept me on hold so long that the price of the ticket had increased, so she said. On my screen it was still $371.00 for the same flight. But she insisted on charging $70.00 more. She was wrong!!! On March 9, my checking account (I used my debit card) showed that cheaptickets charged my account $340.00 $81.09 (not the $100.00) $2.00. I called Cheaptickets again. They denied the $81.09 charge stating that Delta had charged that. Although Delta's name was not on the charge, I called them. They accused Cheaptickets. This accusation of one another has gone on to this date—March 21. I complained. I was told that the $81.09 and $2.00 charges were confirmation charges and should fall off in a week or two. On March 10th all three charges were gone including the $340. I called both Cheaptickets and Delta to ask what was going on. Was my flight cancelled and both confirmed that I had reservations. I took the trip. While I was in Atlanta yesterday, I called my bank to confirm the amount for the luggage and airport parking fee. When I left Columbus on the morning of March 18, I had $528. On Sunday, my balance was minus $62.00. I had to borrow enough money from my daughter to pay for my luggage and my parking fee at the Columbus airport. That wsa embarrassing. I am asking for compensation—the $340 plus $100 overdraft fees. I have used Orbitz for many years and have had satisfactory service, but I will not use you again. Even today when I called Cheaptickets and Delta, both are accusing one another. I should not have had to pay so much money, because an inept employee kept me on the phone so long, because she could not find my ticket, and then did not know how to apply an unused ticket to a new ticket purchase. I am so angry. I just do not want to have anything else to do with you or your Cheaptickets. I just want my refund.
