My experience with this bus line has been nothing but negative. From the disorganization and uncleanliness of the station to the unprofessional behavior of all of the workers that I came in contact with, I recommend the train over the greyhound bus lines any day.
I purchased round trip tickets to and from Chicago two weeks in advance. On my trip to Chicago the bus was a half hour late in arriving to the Ann Arbor station, and the bus driver had to ask for directions from the passengers on multiple occasions. We waited at the transfer station for over an hour before enough of us complained to costumer service over the phone and they found a new bus.
On my trip back, they overbooked the bus and informed about 15 of us that there was nothing they were willing to do to fix the problem and we could either stand for the 2 and a half hour ride to the transfer station or wait 6 hours for the next bus at midnight. The costumer service supervisor was rude, refused to listen to any of our questions, and once she was done repeating the same thing multiple times, disappeared behind the counter and left to immaturely joke around with other staff while we stood there waiting for assistance.
I recommend Megabus or Amtrak trains over Greyhound Bus Lines any time of year, even if it means paying an extra 50 dollars for the train during holiday season. If for some reason, you insist on taking this extremely unprofessional and run-down bus line, I recommend getting there at least an hour in advance and standing in line at the gate to make sure you have seats on the bus you paid for. However, purchasing tickets in advance is unnecessary as they will sell you a ticket even if they are out of seats.
