My elderly mother called me a few months ago to say that she had won a free 2 night cruise to the Bahamas for 2 and wanted to know if I would join her next year. She lives in Georgia and was down in Florida for a visit this past week so brought the cruise info with her. When I saw the paperwork and discovered that she had already prepaid $898 via her credit card (apparently she gave the sales person the info over the phone) I was pretty dismayed. My mom is 75 and still has to work full time to make ends meet. She has always dreamed of taking a cruise and she just couldn't resist the chance at a "dream vacation".
I am convinced that she was the victim of very deceptive sales tactics - hopefully we will be able to get her money back either from Caribbean Cruise Line or the credit card company. Will update in a few weeks.
