On June 16, I attended a presentation for vacation services through Florida Sport and Recreation Network. The presentation was convincing and promised savings of thousands of dollars on cruises, hotels, condos, airfare and car rentals. This lifetime membership cost $3,483.00 plus a $150.00 annual usage fee.
Unfortunately, none of the promises of savings 2-3 times better than internet companies or travel agents was true. I attempted to use the service to book hotel reservations as soon as I was able to (10 days after the contract was signed). The hotels in their network were limited and the rates no better than the internet prices. The rewards money toward the rate was less than $25.00, more like $10-$12.00.in addition, the hotels were 2 and 3 star hotels, contrary to the promise of 4 and 5 star hotels only. My second attempt was to reserve a 2 bedroom condo on the beach in Florida. We were very flexible in our dates (not a holiday period) and open to any city in Florida. Out of 10 rentals from the network inventory the only rental found to be available through the network was a golf resort located 4-5 miles from the beach. I went to the internet and found several condos on the beach meeting our requests at comparable prices. I called the customer service manager and requested a cancellation of my membership. She said she would research my concerns and get back to me. To date no one has replied to my request. This prompted me to research this company on the internet. There are so many complaints. One reported a membership of 3 years and never being able to book a reservation. Everyone had experiences similar to mine. I only wish that I had checked the internet before going to the presentation or prior to the 3 day cancellation period. I would like to join with others to inform innocent consumers about this company before it's too late. Please contact me at.
