A horrible experience at SILVERLEAF Resort in Lee, MA Bad! Bad! Bad!

It looks like I was just added to the list of people hurt by Silverleaf Resorts. This took place at the Silverleaf Resort in Lee, MA&NOT a very nice to visit at all. The property, I felt, was not all too attractive at all nor were the individuals visiting the resort. Even the sales staff stated that none of them actually stay at this resort&oh brother.

While at Six Flags New England 2 weeks ago I was approached by what appeared to be Six Flags Employees wearing the Six Flags shirts etc. I was asked to fill out a form and as a valued season pass holder would be offered the chance to spin a wheel for the chance to win a valuable prize. For this there was an entire display with table/tents set up. The individual that took my information indicated that I would undoubtedly win a prize.

We spun the wheel and it landed on the free trip to Vegas (or Orlando). All the other employees working there acted very excited for me and my family for winning the trip.

Here's where things went south. I'm an educated individual so I knew to ask lots of questions to see what the catch was. I asked questions like: What's the catch? Are there blackout dates involved in the trip? Will we have to fly out at crazy times? Are there fees? I was told there was NO catch, there were NO blackout days, there was NO cost and that I would be able to select the dates and times for the trips. The only requirement would be to attend a time share (snare) presentation for 90 minutes. Suddenly, it didn't seem so free and or like a prize. I should have backed away at this point. After the presentation I would be given the trip and I could call Silverspring Resort's travel agency and tell them when I wanted to travel and that would be it. What a complete line of you know what!!!

Here's where it gets even uglier. I was given some paperwork to bring with me along with an appointment time/date. The literature indicated this was a NO PRESSURE presentation.

The presentation was very high-pressure. We were worked on by one sales person for well over an hour. A second salesman, very rough around the edges, tried to work on me and my wife for a while - this person I found to be insulting as he tried to have a mental combat with me and convince me that my way of thinking was flawed. Then a third person came in and tried for a while; he must have been considered as the Black-Belt of closers. After we indicated we had no interest the third salesman whole affect changed and he took us to the, Wolf Pit downstairs where we could wait to get our prizes.

The trip turned out to have tons blackout dates and other stipulations. There were so many stipulations within the terms and conditions that it is almost impossible to take this trip. Here are a few of the stipulations:

*Travel is only on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday
*Departure flights could leave as late as 10pm
*Return flights can leave as early as 6am
*You can't travel within 7 calendar days of a long list of holidays
*You can not travel during any major conventions
*You have to select three different dates of travel and they'll decide when you actually travel
*You have to mail a deposit to some registration center&$50 per person.
*Taxes and fees were involved as it turned out.

The trip I was offered at Six Flags was for two nights/three days. It doesn't seem all too attractive if I have to bring my family to the airport at 10pm and leave at 6am within about a day. Is it these unattractive features of the trip that Silverleaf is counting on in hopes that people won't take the trip?

HOW can anyone travel under the above conditions? How can you schedule time off of work? Just do the math; under the above structure there are very few days/times you can actually travel.

Before we left they gave us a scratch ticket which revealed a free trip to an exotic location yet the terms of participation were very limiting as with the first trip.

SHAME on you Silverleaf Resort in Lee, MA for doing this. Why didn't you share the details of the trip before the presentation?

What is going on Six Flags? How important are your guests to you Six Flags? If you were not aware this was going on, now you are. A verbal complaint of this was called in as well.

I have left messages for management at Six Flags New England and Silverleaf but have yet to receive a call back.
