Imperial Majesty
Last year, December 3, my mother (at that time 87 and day away from being 88 years old) got a phone call saying she won a free cruise. Being the trusting person she is she listened and said okay. Then she gave them her credit card number and was charged $498.00 for the FREE cruise. She thought she bought a cruise for two people to Nassau, Bahamas. Soon she started getting paper work and a cd describing a wonderful cruise. Months later when she told me about it I looked over the paper work and realized this was a time share promotion. We would have to pay our own way to Florida, Rent a car (Probably at their expense and their car rental place), spend a night at a Ramada (Their Ramada), drive to a time share presentation, stay another night at the Ramada and then drive to the port where we would board the Imperial Majesty. Go out to seaarrive in the Bahamas the next day where we had the day to walk around, board the ship, spend the night and be back in Ft. Lauderdale the next day. That is 2 nights and 3 days?
So because I had no time off until Oct- Nov (Yes, I am 68 years old and work to supplement my social security) we called and planned the trip. Because of the high cost of flying we planned a visit to see her son to be followed by on Nov 2nd by the Imperial Majesty deal and then home on Nov 6th.
Now on Wed, Oct 22 a phone call was left on my phone. (I was at work and Mom does not know how to get messages off of the phone) I got the message late on Wednesday and because I was so tired I chose to make the call back on the next morning. On Thursday morning, Oct 23 about 8:30 A.M., I called the number 1 800.
I told the person about the call left on my phone and was transferred to a man named Andrew. Then the shocker He told me my cruise on the Imperial Majesty had been cancelled. He said that FEMA was using the trip for huricaine victims in Houston, TX! He said I had 18 months to reschedule the trip. We now have that $498. That they charged my mother (on her Key Bank Visa on 12-03-07 Reference number P3BXQKKQ) and $118. That they put on my credit card for port fees. I told them I could not afford to fly there again and then they offered me to cruise on the Norwegian for 5 days. I told them I had a job to be back to and a flight date to meet. I also told them I would be calling to complain.

Talked to Alicia asked for client # RI113007-041 She was off of the line for a whilecame back and
Alicia came back on phone. She asked me exactly what I wanted. I told her we wanted a refund as we did not cancel the trip and even though they took advantage of an elderly lady selling her such a trip. (said it was free and she was charged $498. Plus the $118.in port fees that I her daughter paidImperial Majesty cancelled NOT US. We were going to use the trip Yes, Imperial Majesty offered us another trip and I told Alicia that we could not afford Airline fare again. They also offered to give us a 5 day trip on another ship and we would not be back in time for our already paid for flight and I had a job to get back to. I am a working 68 year old. Alicia said the supervisor would also tell me that there are no refunds. I told her I would still like to talk to a manager..
After a 15 minute wait. Justin X4321 came on the line. He said he was the manager. He said that in the package it stated that there were no refunds. I asked him to talk to his manager. He said he is the highest manager there. Thank you and good bye. Nov 11 5:15 PM
Due to holiday company and a heavy work load I am just now having time to deal with this again. I do not know what else to do. I feel that an 89 year (she is 89 now) old lady has been been scammed... There must be a way we can get her money back. She is living off of Social Security.
