The worst business ethics Various nationwide

My parents were to leave for a vacation to Florida where they were going to catch a cruiseship in Ft Lauderdale and sail for 7 glorious days. The morning of their flight they arrived at the airport in Atlantic City terminal 5 minutes late. They had missed the exit to turn off to the airport, and had to turn around and backtrack to the exit. When they arrived at the airport they parked the car and walked to the terminal at this point instead of getting in the building 5 minutes sooner due to the mishap, they were bumped from the flight. My parents are 76 and 73 years old. My mother has a heart condition, and my father has arthritis related problems in his knees, but they did the best they could when trying to go from the car parking lot to the terminal. (The previous year I took my daughter to Florida for the first time and I can tell you it is not a short walk from the terminal to the parking lot, especially pulling bags behind you.) They were told that because they were 5 minutes late, and they overbook the flight that they lost their reservations and it was a non refundable ticket. Then the woman at the counter told them they could purchase a ticket from A/C airport to Philly airport and then purchase tickets there to Ft Lauderdale. So i guess if the flight wasn't overbooked then there would have been no problem, but because they overbooked the flight (I guess they have a bunch of brainless morons there that cannot count) so they have your money plus all the other customers and their money to them they are in a win win situation. That is to me a theft of services, my parents paid for a service, and they didn't get the service but Spirit Airlines is $618.00 richer guess the exexutives there need more money so steal from Senior Citizens living on a fixed income. When I called the 800 number they told me over and over that there is nothing they will do and they will not refund the money or make good on another ticket for them to make their cruiseship, so my parents are out to the sum of about $2000.00 and when I demanded that I be given Corporates number I was told we cannot give out that number but we can give you their mailling address. Well if spirit airlines was and honest airline how come corporate will not speak with any customers that have a problem with their airlines. That is poor customer satisfaction if you ask me. I also stated we wanted either a refund of the $618.00 or a flight for them to get to florida by 12 noon for that $618.00. I mentioned to the representative about the flight to Philly and then to Ft Lauderdale I was told that Philly did not have any flights to Ft Lauderdale. So whats the story there, now they wanted my parents to spend another $45.00 each to fly to Philly and not be able to get to their destination yet again and then be stranded at Philly airport. Spirit Airlines Are Nothing But Theives!!! There planes are small and uncomfortable. They overcrowd their planes, AND on top of it they charge you for everything, peanuts, water, soda surprised they dont charge you to go to the bathroom, but now I just gave them another idea. Watch out spirit airlines Karma is a real B*! You have screwed so many people and if enough of us get together and let everyone in the world know how you rip off the consumer, and your airline folds There's Your Karma.
