My husband and I were holidaying in Canne Pastilla in Mallorca in September. On Friday 19 Sept we took a bus to Palma to visit the Cathedral. As soon as we stepped of the bus a young Irish girl asked if we were holidaymakers. She said she was helping to promote a new travel company. She gave each of us a card to take to "one of their branches" If we picked up a brochure we would get a free bottle of wine. She asked us to scratch the cards to see what wine we could get. She got very excite when my husband scratched 3 identical symbols. He had won either 1000, a holiday or a laptop. She would take us to the office to find out what prize he had won. We were told he had won a holiday but to get it we would have to sit through an 80 min presentation. They asked what credit cards we had and had we consumed any alcohol (in order to protect themselves). We ended up sitting there for 3 hours. They tried to persuade us to become members of this exclusive club where we could enjoy 5* holidays for the price of 3*. The cost of membership was approx 8000 and they wanted us to pay a deposit there and then. I smelled a rat and absolutely refused. The whole attitude changed and they more or less pushed us out of the office. I saw a woman with 2 young sons in tears as I am sure they were telling her about all the lovely holidays she could have. I am not a stupid person but this whole experience had a devastating effect on the rest of my holiday. How dare these people be allowed to operate like this. I would like to see them totally exposed.in a way we were lucky as we did not part with any money. What about the people who did.
