The Silver Lakes Vacation Club of Helendale, CA is a complete rip off company. Often they use the initials SLVC. We visited one time and we "won" a timeshare. Since they were affiliated with RCI and we were members of RCI we accepted. The next year they were kicked out of RCI. Since we could not trade through RCI we have never been able to use this timeshare. Now they have been accepted back into RCI. We thought we would just use the RCI new point system and finally get some value from paying our yearly dues. We couldn't do it. Our timeshare doesn't come with that priveledge.
The people who wanted to buy my timeshare were told the same thing and when they asked why, the person on the phone was not helpful, very rude and not even friendly. A supervisor or office manager was even worse. The buyers decided just based on the attitude of these people they didn't want anything to do with the company and certainly not these people they talked to. Needless to say we have never been able to sell this timeshare.
To date we have never used this timeshare to trade nor have gotten any benefit from the years of paying dues. We own two other timeshares and enjoy them very much.
