Vacation Resort Group - Star Vacation Club
Gave me misleading large number of RCI points, accummulating if not used, I had no ability to vacation when they said I could, NO service No product

On March 1, I purchased 34,000 RCI points for $10,944.00 from Vacation Resort Group located in Flatiron Blvd, Suite E, Broomfield, CO. My purchase also included an extra $18,000 RCI points added on by Michael Dagnillo, Sales Manager, in the form of a certificate that I would redeem from RCI. Angela Cabral, the sales person I was working with told me that I could start using my RCI points the end of May because that was when I was thinking of vacationing with my kids. I put a down payment of $1,094.00 and paid the balance of $9,850.00 on April 30.

At the time of the agreement, I was given the promised prize for attending this sales meeting. I received a thank you gift prize which I could choose from I chose the Exclusive Getaway which I needed to mail in to receive a voucher entitling 2 adults for a 3 day 2 night stay choosing from 16 destinations. I mailed the request and I received yet another card (return address from TSN International, Inc. 24 North Washington, Suite 100, Batavia, IL 60510) asking me to choose from: JetAway GetAway (Las Vegas, Orlando, Puerto Vallarta, or Cancun, Mexico), an Orlando Getaway (followed by additional 2 nights in Cocoa Beach, Daytona or Fort Lauderdale), Adventure Cruise, or Seize the Moment: 3 days and 2 nights at one of over 30 participating destinations.

I chose the JetAway GetAway. After sending that request in, I received a letter from Infinity Incentive Group (return address from Infinity Incentive Group, 151 Riviera Dr. #102, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403) with instructions to fill out the Jetaway activation form and must be received within 21 days from the issue date on your Vacation Voucher, or your voucher is void. I sent that in. At this point I was wondering if I would in fact get a trip, so Ive kept copies of all Ive sent and kept their correspondence with the envelopes). Another correspondence came that had a Travel Request Form I had to fill out and must again be received within 21 days from the date of this Letter. The letter also stated, Additionally, you will need to enclose your $50 per person ticketing service fee at this time. Once your ticketing/service fee is received an IIG reservation agent will contact you approximately 60 days prior to your requested travel dates.

Once contacted and the dates requested are available you will be required to pay for your hotel and airline taxes. The minimum collected from you at the time of confirmation is approximately $120.00 to $280.00. At this point I decided not to pursue the prize as the prize is no prize at all. I may in the end have a $280.00 or more out of pocket expense trying to get a prize. I could make my own arrangements for a 2 night stay and air fare for the same amount. This prize didnt seem to be a prize at all.

Meanwhile, I received a new member welcome letter from Vacation Resort Group in Batavia, Illinois dated March 5, that my membership number will take 60 days, so I felt that was enough time for my travel plans end of May. On May 17 I called Vacation Resort Group and spoke with Amber. I complained that I wanted to make a trip the end of May but I have not received a RCI member # to make arrangements with RCI. I also told her that I made the purchase having been assured by Angela Cabral that I could use my RCI points the end of May, no problem.

I was then told that I will receive my membership number the end of June, as it has been sent to RCI for processing the date of my final payment and it takes 60 days processing time. This is completely different from what I was told at the time of the contract agreement.

I did not plan a trip the end of May because of that.
My next trip was to be in July. On June 28, I called Michael Dagnillo, Sales Manager at the sales office in Broomfield to ask about RCI member #. He called me back and left me a message on my answering machine to call 1-800-654-4992. I called that number I was put on hold and was automatically transferred to Trish, with memberships voicemail. I left a message but did not receive a call back. I called again on July 2 and left a message after a recording. I received a return call that same day from Trish on my answering machine.

I called back and it was yet again a recording, so I left another message for them to call me back. No return call, so I called back on July 3 and left another message. I did not receive any return calls. I called back on July 5 and left a lengthy message about sales lying to me about being able to use my membership in May, again about receiving an RCI member number in June and it is now July and I have yet to get my RCI member #, and that this contract would be void. I received a call back from Amber. Her manager Trish was out of the office and instructed her to tell me that VRG would provide corporate points for me to use the week of July 19-26, because I have not received my RCI member #. I will receive an email from her regarding the Vacation Resort Group corporate points for me to use in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and that someone from RCI will also call me that afternoon.

I did not receive a call from RCI.
I did not receive an email regarding corporate points from Vacation Resort Group.
I made my own arrangements for a place to stay in Steamboat Springs with my kids.

On October 23, I received correspondence from RCI with my member number and card 6 months after I made full payment. So that same day, I called Vacation Resort Group to inquire why so late and whatever happened to the corporate points that they promised. Not to my surprise, I did not get a call back.

I have yet to receive a deed to my purchase.in mid-September I received an invoice from Vacation Resorts International, 23041 Avenida de la Carlota, Suite 400, Laguna Hills, CA 92653, for: 2007 assessments and exchange activity fee for $374.00, and again mid-October an assessment for: previous balance assessments and exchange activity fee for $748.00. I chose not to pay as I have no ownership to anything.in mid-February I received a letter that my association dues have been delinquent and that payment should be made immediately.in response, I called the number on the letter (949-855-8004) on February 22. I told Justin who answered my call that the reason I havent paid was because I have not received a ownership a deed. He told me that they do not have that and I should call Destiny Resorts who sold me the timeshare. This is the first I am hearing of Destiny Resorts and Vacation Resort Group is not who sold me the timeshare. I asked for a number and he did not have one. I searched for VRGs number and called 1-800-530-6401 and could not get through as it is not available from your calling area. I called Michael Dagnillo, Sales Manager and left a message with the receptionist so I could get to the bottom of it. Of course, I did not get a call back from Michael Dagnillo.

On February 25, I decided to call VRG at another number I found — 800-530-6401 and I was told that I reached Star Vacation Club. I told her I was trying to reach VRG; she gave me another number 800-654-5235. I called that number and left a long message after a recording. I said that I was calling regarding my deed that I have not received and RCI points promised in July from the corporate office which I did not receive and had to spend my own money for lodging. Amber called me back and put the blame on me that I didnt call them back to get the corporate points in July and I didnt get my RCI member # because RCI was backed up 90 days in the summer (at that time she was supposed to email me corporate points and RCI to call me that day). I asked about the deed and she explained to me that VRG is an RCI broker and that Destiny Resorts in Branson, MO sold me the time share through VRG. She found a copy of my deed that she said Destiny Resorts sent to them and Destiny Resorts is supposed to have sent me the original. She told me to call Destiny Resorts back.

On February 27, I called Destiny Resorts at 417-339-3336 and left a message at extension 102, deeding with David Raplica and Aaron Bayne. I got a call back from Robin and told me that the original deed was sent to whomever I purchased it from which is Star Vacation Club/VRG at 800-654-5235. Destiny Resorts do not mail the original deed to owners, Destiny Resorts only keep a copy in their files.

On February 28, I called VRG and spoke to Margaret. She put me on hold and told me that Trish, her manager just called Destiny Resorts and Robin at Destiny Resorts can get me the original deed. I called Robin back at Destiny Resorts and she told me that she has only been working there a month and that the husband/wife owner (Aaron) is swamped. She will inquire about it to the owners and will send me the deed in the mail.

Two weeks passed and I have been looking in the mail for the deed. On March 14, I called Robin at Destiny Resorts back. Her response was that You need to deal with them (VRG); that Destiny Resorts does not have the deed. Destiny Resorts dont have the original deed as they send it to the company who sold the time share. She said that she would e-mail Trish at VRG. I asked her to copy me the email, but she would not. She took my email to give to Trish.

In the afternoon on March 14, I called VRG to ask about the original deed. I got a recording and left a message for Trish that I talked to Robin at Destiny Resorts and that VRG has the deed to send me. I didnt get a call back but received an email from Trish on March 15 that she would follow up on Monday. I didnt hear from her.

On March 18, I called RCI at 877-968-7476 after receiving an account update regarding my member RCI points in the mail. It stated that I have a balance of 23,000 points and the person I talked to told me that this is the number of points with owning Shores at Lake Travis. This is to be used within 2 years as it expires after that, but I wont be able to use these until I pay my overdue assessment fees.

I do not have a deed; I do not have 34,000 RCI points; I have a certificate to redeem an additional 18,000 points, which I dont know whether it is valid. I have not been able to use accommodation at the time that I needed to use it. I believe that the contract is null and void because they have not provided what was agreed upon. I have paid $10,944.00 to Vacation Resort Group who after receiving my payment has not given satisfactory product and service. I am being threatened by Vacation Resorts International for nonpayment of assessments for something I dont have, which is accruing fees and penalties. I dont know what and how many violations Vacation Resort Group has committed doing business with me without delivering. It is now a year from the time I signed into this contract and I have not received what I agreed to and paid for.
