Telemarketer offered Nassau cruise, 5 days, 4 nights plus 4-night hotel in Orlando, 2-night hotel in Daytona Beach for one price: USD599 paid in advance.
Catch: must attend 90-minute sales "tour".
I offered (and they agreed) to pay only 1/2 the $599 since I was skeptical, had not heard of the company, etc.
Received package by courier, booked land vacation — got hit with a small reservation fee. OK so far.
Time to book the cruise. Oh-oh. Now we want 349 USD per person for 'port fees, taxes and booking fees.
Now even if we take into account the 299 we still 'owed', that is a lot of money for port fees and taxes. Besides, it's a cheap, old tour boat. We passed on that one.
Please don't get taken in by these people. I spoke with a Canadian tourist, when we were at the 'tour', who had been on the cruise, and wasn't impressed. Neither did they have to pay the fees that I just outlined. She agreed that it wouldn't be worth it.
