Complaint / Review
Spirit Incentives
Ripoff, lies, deception, no return of deposit

Let me add my voice to the din.

The details are too long, but the short story is similar to many others here.

I attended a time share presentation, sent in my voucher for a 3day / 2 night stay in Sedona, AZ, sent in a deposit of $50. I received a card confirming their receipt of my requested dates. I followed all their instructions.

I kept getting "date unavailable notices" and kept rescheduling until I had less than 2 months left in the 12 month allowable period. Finally I called them and said "let's firm up a date". They were working on it, they said. I finally got a supervisor to call me back after I wrote a letter. The infamous Marcia Gardiner (sp?) (she is mentioned in a few other complaints here).

Also, it is ridiculously hard to get thru to anyone there. They have ONE phone #. It is not toll free. No emails listed. No email link on web site. No fax #. Long waits on hold when you do call (on your dime). They won't give you direct line #s, emails, or fax #s when you ask. It is the worst customer relations I have ever dealt with.

Marcia did finally call me back and offered a date that I couldn't travel on. I said "no". After much grumbling from me, they offered me a 2nd date. Even worse for me. I called back the next day and said I'll re-schedule my life to take the first date offered which I understood to still be available. I heard nothing. I mailed them. I left messages for Marcia. I got no return calls or mail back. Meanwhile, I DID reschedule my life at great effort (including some medical appts.).

Finally one morning about 10 days before my assumed arrival date, I got a message from Marcia saying my travel had not been confirmed by me so they were canceling all reservations and keeping my deposit. I immediately called back, got Marcia and she said there was no way to change their minds, no way to extend the certificate, nothing could be done. I even threatened a lawsuit and the line suddenly got disconnected. No surprise there.

Then out of the blue I got an email from Marketing Dept. Asking how I enjoyed my trip! So I got back to them, told my story, and asked if they could help. The marketing person was very kind but clearly had no power with the scheduling dept. Or Marcia.in fact, they tried to get my deposit back for good will but were refused.

So I am suing them - and Marcia by name. I am also reporting them to BBB, FL state attorney gen's office, other web sites, and anywhere else I can think of (licensing agencies if they have one). I either want the trip promised or the value of the trip, not simply my deposit. Failing that, I want them to work real hard defending themselves. Anyone want to join me?
