Bill Robinson of Starr-Getaways informed me I could book the following package for 4 people for 698.- excluding flights.
This was a special arrangment with the Florida Tourist Bureau. (see webiste)
Orlando - 5 days, 4 nights
Daytona - 3 days, 2 nights
Ft. Lauderdale - 3 days, 2 nights
Bahamas Cruise - 7 days, 6 nights
I agreed to payment after being assured that my phone call was being recorded
to ensure correct & safe payment would be processed.
I have a reservations number.
I have copied this information from the website: starr-getaways.com
For our clients protection each reservation is digitally recorded and a detailed receipt confirming the clients' purchase of a vacation from Starr-getaways then emailed back. We have continued to exceed our clients' expectations by providing some of the best vacations available and also by the service we are committed to provide.
We will continue to exceed their expectations with "Consumer Confidence Written Guarantee."
"If our vacations are not 100% as we have presented them to you, and you were not happy with what you expected on vacation, you're entitled to a new vacation package for free. We will waive the purchase price of the vacation. This is our written guarantee to you.

On 14th April after realising I had been conned (see below) out of 698, - I phoned the Nationwide Visa Debit Card department to tell the story. I requested to block the card, but because it was not a creditcard this was not possible. I was told by Lucy to wait and see it the Money would be debited and then write to request that this Money be claimed and repaid. I realised however that this company is a proffessional criminal orgaisation so it is probably impossible to get the moeny back!
I then realised that perhaps this company could continually debit my account so on 15th April I called back and spoke to Paul I explained this situation and he suggested I report the card lost, so that I could block the card. Paul immediately reported the card as lost. Since then the 693, - has been debited on as of 16th April from my Flexaccount.

Since then I have received a package via courier registered mail where the contents appear to be official vouchers from Florida Tourist Bureau Inc. 3501 West Vine Street, Suite 382, Kissimmee, Florida 34741. Tel 407.518.1800 Fax 407.518.5532
The heading is: Starr Travel Service Inc. They request us to mail or fax the completed reservations form including requesting payment via creditcard for the portcharges of the cruise and 149 us dollars per child. I have not done this.

My bank in the UK has credited my account and is investigating this company and/or situation!
Best regards,

Glynne
