Complaint / review text:
We bought into the lhvc after over 4 hours of sales pitches by more than 3 people. We finally bought in after negotiating a price, thinking it was such a great deal for our family of 6. The closer we got to our next travel dates the more we found out about what we DID not have the right to! When we tried to redeem the RCI credits we got with our package, we were told we weren't able to use them until we became gold level members! What makes us gold we asked. Apparently you have to be in your contract for at least a year. Well, we shall see now that we've been in a year. Haven't contacted them again but our credits expire within two years so who knows what will happen! Next, The limo and helicopter vip transfer to and from the airport? Yea, that's for Gold level members. (We bought into the penthouse level... I never even heard the word gold. It was shareholder, villa, penthouse and two bedroom) so we were told a shuttle would pick us up with other people. (Not vip in my opinion). Ok no big deal. We get to the hotel, pay the all inclusive fees, get our pool towels and VIP bands, etc and they usher us to the VIP desk. Well fancy the surprise of being told our penthouse was unavailable due to another member extending their stay. They conveniently were all booked up with no other penthouse or villas we could upgrade to. The room they gave us wasn't even in the section/resort location we paid for. While still in the same vicinity, the room was in the cheapest section of the resort. And on the 3rd floor. We were downgraded to a 2 bedroom suite. With 6 people we had a king sized bed in the master suite and a full sized bed in the second bedroom. A very old crappy sofa bed for the two youngest children. In essence they gave us the smallest room that could possibly house 4 adults and 2 children. Not to mention on the third floor with no elevators and a railing my 6 yr old almost stumbled over trying to look down!
Mind you the accommodations could have been worse but we paid twice as much for a larger room and were told they would be happy to refund us the difference. Then I had to make an appointment with the person who could do that. I had to do it two days later at a time that was inconveniencing my family. I show up for said appointment and am told it will take 5-7 days for them to process the credit. Why can't they do it right away? It takes you seconds to TAKE my money!!!! Btw I have yet to see said refund and it's been a week! With no response to my or my husband's emails!
Upon making arrangements for our transfer back to the airport they inform us our shuttle will arrive more than 4 hours before our flight. 4! It takes 30 minutes with traffic to get to the airport! Thank goodness we took extra money to get food at the airport and kill time! Everything about this trip was stressful! Vacation is supposed to be stress free. I refuse to go back! I will be going to my original location I visited in hopes of better service. And you best believe I will update you all!
