Stolen Phone and Privacy

I documented my iPhone taken on 1/13/10 to AT&T-800 range and on 1/14/10 towards the Daytona Beach shop. After contacting AT&T to record the phone absent I had been informed it'd charge me $700.00 to displace my telephone.

Over Easter weekend I then found out that my ex husband had his iPhone taken. I expected him where he got the telephone and was educated it had been the main one he got from me. He explained that in January he got the my telephone and had support placed on the telephone under their own bill. He simply strolled in from the road and AT&T never requested to get a revenue bill or did they actually turn to discover when the telephone was documented as stolen. After discovering what occurred to my telephone I approached AT&T and was informed it's not their responsibility to determine if your telephone is borrowed or not. So that they are just worried about obtaining the new client and producing their present client pay $700.00 for another telephone. Based on the authorities and AT&T $700.00 is just a felony charge neither law enforcement or AT&T might assist me get my telephone. I also discovered that AT&T nearby shop in Daytona Beach, utilized my consideration and published my ex husband off a duplicate of my bill so he'd have one. It'd my title onto it and my account had a passcode onto it and also the Daytona Beach AT&T didn't actually confirm that signal, AT&T doesn't worry about protection on any types account.

If AT&T along with other companies might simply confirm if your telephone was taken or not, the robbery of mobile phones might drop. Thus in the place of AT&T assisting a person that's been together for a long time. They explained they'd provide me a $80.00 credit or perhaps a cheaper telephone.

Personally, I believe if everybody that's ever endured a costly telephone taken and it has law enforcement statement and informed their provider began a-class action suit from the mobile phone companies our telephones might once more be secure, however again it'd reduce in to the professionals main point here when they needed to be accountable people and appear out due to their clients.

If any lawyer could be thinking about managing this situation please contact me in the above quantity. I'm sorry, but I actually donot have another $700.00 to purchase another iPhone and that I am caught spending money on a-line that I can not actually use. I believe it's time that people got back what's mine and create the companies accountable for promoting support on stolen property.
