Overspin Putter Unauthorized Charges to Credit Card Following Product Return

I have apparently fallen prey to the Medicus Golf / Overspin Putter billing scam. I can't believe that the Golf Channel hasn't caught wind of this, as much advertising as they sell to Medicus for the Overspin putter, the Medicus 5-iron and driver, the Medicus Power Meter, and maybe even instructional videos.

Rather than re-hash my story, I'll just paste the text of the email that I submitted on their website today. I'll let everyone know what happens and whether they reverse the charges.

Here is what I sent them today:

Hello:

I purchased an Overspin putter on 3/23. I took advantage of the "try 2" models option, so I was shipped 2 putters (the original silver Overspin and the other version with a black finish). I paid with my Visa card and there were two (2) separate charges that showed up on my card. On 3/26, a charge of $10.95 was posted. Then on 4/24, a charge of $69.90 was posted. Total of these first 2 charges: $80.85.

The putters were shipped to me on 3/27 and received on 4/5. I tried them and did not like them, so I took advantage of the 30-day money back return policy. I called within 30 days of delivery and received the following return authorization code: RA13415972.

I shipped the putters back in their original, mint condition on May 7 (via FedEx) and they were received by Medicus on 5/10.

Medicus subsequently processed a refund to my credit card in the amount of $70.90, which posted to my account on 5/16. I noticed that the refund was (curiously) $9.95 less than the total of the first 2 charges, but it wasn't enough money for me to make a big deal out of it. I figured that was just the shipping charges from when Medicus shipped to me.

However, I have subsequently had TWO (2) NEW, UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES post to my credit card account. On 5/25 a charge in the amount of $9.95 was posted by "JBEI Medicus Video." On 6/7 another charge in the amount of $9.95 was posted by "MD Tour Partner Reward."

These two new charges were posted after I had already returned the putters and after Medicus had already proceeds my refund of $70.90.

Please remove these charges from my account. I did not authorize them.

Candidly, I am a bit concerned about these charges, because I just "googled" the phrase "MD Tour Partner Reward" and I found no less than two dozen references to a billing "scam" by Medicus Golf and MD Tour Partners. It appears that Medicus has developed a rather dubious reputation as a result of these illegal billing practices.

In fact, I discovered that R.M. & G Products, Inc. And Bernheim & Rice, Inc. Were recently sued in Cook County, Ohio and that the plaintiff (Robert Klein) has asked that court to certify a class of plaintiffs.

Please be advised that I am an attorney in Tennessee and if one more unauthorized charge appears on my Visa card, I will not hesitate to file another lawsuit against Medicus and its affiliates here in Tennessee.

I have neither the time nor the patience to get caught up in a billing scam with Medicus or with anyone else. Therefore, I would ask that you please reverse these charges immediately and that you further CEASE AND DESIST from initiating any future charges against my Visa account. This goes for Medicus and all of its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and partners, including (without limitation) MD Tour Partners.
I have no desire to be unpleasant about this matter, but as the old saying goes, "where there is smoke, there is fire." If Medicus is perpetuating a scam, I do not wish to be caught up in it. If I am forced to go through my credit card company to have the charges reversed and blocked, I will sue for damages.

Accordingly, I would again request that you refund these charges and refrain from making any further charges to my Visa account.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. If you have any questions, please call me at (865) $-$ or at (865) $-$.
