I am writing to report that I had a terrible experience with Knuckle Up Fitness. The Midtown Atlanta location was of poor quality and low standards. When I reported this to Kim at corportate my complaints were brushed aside. I then went on to report my complaint to the Atlanta BBB and National BBB both of which were useless wastes of time.
My biggest problem was that I requested to cancel my membership for reasons outside the contract citing health violations, which I reported to the Atlanta code standards and did at least receive notification that they were cited. According to the contract, membership can be terminated and receipt of the full payment can be refunded if the member is canceling for any reason NOT listed in the contract.
I actually had a valid health and safety concern that involved leaky pipes and wet mats that were both unsanitary and dangerous if you are doing martial arts. However, Knuckle Up refused to refund the full amount, furthermore, to this date they have failed to return ANY of my money which I am entitled to according to the contract that states they will refund my first month's payment if I cancel within 72 hours, which I did. Now, when I call corporate, however, I am told payment is coming, BUT I have been contacting them since Feb. 18th with no success.
All in all I am very dissastisfied with the company, its customer service and its unethical business practices. Kim, who is the corporate representative of Knuckle Up (who refuses to provide her last name whenever I request it) has failed to refund any portion of my money and then went on to lie to the Atlanta BBB. It is clear that this company lacks ethical standards and I am just happy that I am no longer affiliated with it.
