I received a letter telling me that my original model receiver "is being phased out and will soon no longer work." Then they offered "Because you have been such a loyal customer, we re replacing your receiver at no cort or commitment to you."
There was no fine print or any mention of a charge so we had the receiver installed.
Next bill came with a $4.98 a month fee for "Dish VOD Service". I called and was told that was what I would have to pay each month for the service of the new receiver.
I pointed out that nothing about that fee was mentioned anywhere in their offer and asked for an address where I could write to appeal. They said there was no mailing address but I could contact them at feedback@customermail. Dishnetwork.com.
I have made a complaint to the Washington State Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division.
