Please be aware and stay away from using services from the STAMPS.com. They will make an accent that they are an ally with USPS, which will make you believe they are trustworthy company, but eventually you will find yourself fooled and owning them a hundred or more dollars.
Using incomplete information or false advertisement they may sign you up for the services labeled as "free", although they are free for a short period of time. They will not notify you when a service you are subscribed to becomes paid, they will start charging you fees and the only way to cancel is to call them. Reaching them on the phone is very hard. They are open only during regular business hours and you have to wait hours for a representative to answer. If you take Monday afternoon off and keep calling STAMPS.com eventually you may get answered. The representative will do anything he/she can to avoid cancelling your account. There also may be unexpected call-drops and you will have to take Tuesday afternoon off as well. If the representative is unable to avoid cancelling your account, they will cancel your account but will charge you for the current month even though today is 1st day of month. Always ask for a confirmation of your account closure to be send to you by email or mail!
You will be disappointed if you find out yourself in the story described above but if you start looking closely, there is nothing to sue STAMPS.com for. Yes, they fooled you but once you start analyzing their agreements, among pages of that size 6 text you will discover that they are covered from the legal stand point.
This is not the end of my story and I am looking for a lawyer to see if we can sue STAMPS.com for what is describe further.
I was fooled by the STAMPS.com and created account at their website. I was looking for a way to get stamps quickly without going to the post office. When I created the account I provided them my debit card A, giving them my permission to charge it in case I buy any services from them. A week after that I had problems with my credit card A, so my bank blocked, closed the debit card A and send me new debit card B (new number, new expiration date, etc.).
A month after I discovered that STAMPS.com attempts to charge my back account (by that time I almost forgot about this company because I have never used their services since opening the account), I started calling them to close my account. After calling three days in a row at different times I could, I was unable to reach them.
My logic was "Well, if they make it so hard to close account, they have my invalid credit card A on file, which they cannot charge anyway, so I just forget about them". They attempted to charge my credit card A each month but couldn't. A few months later I discover that a big amount of money has been withdrawn from my bank account by company STAMPS.com. The transaction indicates that they used my debit card B. I never provided STAMPS.com my debit card B and never gave them permission to charge that card. I am in the process of investigating the following questions:
1) Where STAMPS.com got my debit card B information?
2) Who gave permission to charge my debit card B?
