I am an employee at Sykes. I was sitting at a desk today performing my work duties when one of the agents came up to me, interrupted me to ask me why I was sitting at her desk and if I was not told that the seat I am in is hers. The agent was hollering at me and started to make fun of my eyes, blurted out I did not realize she sits there because my eyes are so big, "I have eyes problems". Realizing that the matter was childish and wanted to attend to my work I responded to her as a reminder that we do not have assigned seats here and we sit in any vacant spot. She requested a supervisor to complain about her sit and we brought into a room to talk about the matter. The supervisors mentioned above did not handle the situation well, as childish or unimportant the matter had been, they did not take control of the meeting, they allowed the agent to keep screaming at me, and saying smart remarks to me in the room. I was shocked and amazed at how unjust the supervisors were towards me who was the one sitting down and did not go up to an agent to stir up a confrontation. After the agent got up with no permission to leave the meeting before it was over, one of the supervisors nonchalantly said we will find you a seat. I was directed to a seat and I as thought of how unfairly I was treated and a smart remark made by the HR manager, I could not focus anymore and was disappointed. I requested to leave because I was harassed by the agent and the matter was shrugged off. As I was walking out of the door, I noticed the agent was permitted to sit at her desired desk and was moved. This is absolutely no what I expected the outcome to be especially the agent is not a specialist of any department where she must sit at a certain computer to perform her work duties.
