On August 30 I had a represenative name Refael Shalom come to my home and verify, or follow up on the estimated space given to me be Lehigh by email, or weight for my things.
I did this because I did not want any surprises.
Well Refeal came, and due to all his experience in the moving field, he could estimate the weight, or cubic space within 5%.
He ashored me that the weight and or space was within 2000 cubic feet. I aslo had him sign at the top verifying that the items would be delivered no later then five days from pick up, or the eleventh.
The pick up date was on the seventh as planned. The only problem was that the truck sent was too small for all the things we had. But I removed at least one hundred cubic feet from my garage and put it in my own truck, thinking that I reduced the space.
Any way the movers were a bunch of pigs, we gave them soda and water, we found cups and cans all over the house.
Well a second truck came around 5pm to load up the last, we had to get on the road, since we waited all day for them to load.
On September 11, I call Lehigh and spoke to the long distance dispatcher, which I found to be very rude, when I could no longer get anyware with her I repeatedly requested to talk to the owner, and she continued to repeat over and over again the same thing, no I began to yell in her ear untill I spoke to the owner. These people were pure animals.
Our things were scheduled to arrive the following Monday or Tuesday 13th, or 14th) but did not come, we called repeatedly, finally we were told that it would come the 19th, we said no good because we are leaving for a vacation that morning early.
We we arranged for our step son to stay home and wait for the delivery. (2 refrig, riding mower, six foot desk, grill, 12ft step ladder and more). Well when I pulled in the driveway on Saturday night around 9pm, nothing was there.
I waited impatiantly to call them on Monday morning (27th) I called 9:30,10:30,11:55 the long distance dispatcher never came in. The man answering the phones told my wife that the truck left to come to us but he did not have that information.
At this time we are waiting to see if, and when it comes.
There has to be something we the comsumer can do to avoid such experiences such as this, once they get our things we are at their mercy.
Also when the first delivery came, many of my things were broken, damaged. When I would call the office the girl would just say that I have 90 days to file a claim with the insurance company. They offer additional insurance but why should I pay for insurance to cover their careless actions?
I filed a complaint with the BBB today, and will continue to file as many complaints as needed.
Companies such as this should be put at of business, and be sent back to where they came from, they do not deserve a country such as this, they steal peoples money and run back to there own with it.
This country protects the greedy and dishonest companies, and has not interest in protecting the consumer.
