William Condoluci flatly refuses to maintain property he rents to unsuspecting folks. I rented a home from this man in January (at which time he forced me to pay rent for 18 days in which I did not occupy the premises). At that time, he did not disclose to me that the plumbing in the house was questionable, that the septic system had not been properly maintained, or that the air conditioning unit in the house was old, weak, and fairly useless. Please bear in mind that we are located in the High Desert area of Southern California.
In June of it became apparent that the air conditioning was inferior; 100 degree weather was our family's way of finding out. Several unsuccessful attempts were made to resolve this potentially dangerous situation with Condoluci, during which he was informed what effects his cheapness and neglect could potentially have upon us, 2 high-blood pressure patients and our 8 year old daughter. His defense was to plead that if he made a repair, it would cut into my profit.
He was finally informed in July that he would be reported to the Health Dept. Of San Bernardino County CA, all housing authority agencies, and anyone else we could think of who would help us to make him conform with laws and proper rental practices. He initially reacted with fear; ultimately, he and his wife Ina, on August 4 sent us a 30 day Notice to Quit, which is the 1st step in the eviction process. As we have faithfully paid our rent in a timely fashion, have made repairs at our own expense to the house exclusive of Condoluci's profit, and have never violated any law or policy relative to rental of the property, the actions of the Condolucis are clearly retaliatory, which violates California State law.
Several attempts have been made to contact the Condolucis in order to resolve this matter without having to resort to legal action, to no avail. They flatly refuse to consider any type of mediation or other methods of conflict resolution.
Our family has been forced to consult attorneys (one attorney even went as far as telephoning William Condoluci who reported us as always having been 'good tenants') and have been assured us that our family should prevail when this matter goes to court, as it shall.
I hope that this posting on complaint will serve as a warning to anyone who might ever want to do business with the Condolucis of ANY type: DON'T. Both William and Ina (who is a realtor for Rose Realty in Hesperia CA) have shown themselves to me, and have made me believe them to be greedy, untrustworthy, slumlords with a convenient sense of obeying the law.
